It is located in the Khor Khuwair
Industrial area and it is strategic
location to UAE generally and to RAK
in particular, specially because it
is very near to Hormoz Bay (bottleneck)
which is a passage to all international
shipping lines and also because it
is near to Bandar Abbas (Iran) port
for shipping transportation.
It
has been opened in 1977 under the
custody of His Highness Sheikh Saqr
Bin Mohamed Al-Qasimi, Ruler of RAK,
as it is the first modern port in
RAK.
It
is using the latest equipments as
the International ports in the world.
From this port all raw materials extracted
from the neighbouring sights, are
exporting to all the Gulf countries,
India and Pakistan.
Ships
and Vessels loaded with all types
of goods imported to UAE. This port
receives a lot of tourism ships and
vessels coming to RAK.
